ACCESSIBILITY AT PRIDEFEST

At PrideFest, we’re committed to accessibility for our content and at our public events for all the communities we serve. See information below on specific initiatives.

ASL Interpreters for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Attendees

PrideFest provides ASL interpreters at the main stages at both PrideFest Capitol Hill and PrideFest Seattle Center. The hours of interpretation match the hours of each stage, noon-8pm for Capitol Hill and noon-7pm for Seattle Center.

BRAILLE PROGRAM FOR PRIDEFEST

PrideFest is thrilled to have our very first Braille program in 2024. Download it now! You can also ask for it at the entrances to either PrideFest event this year.

MOBILITY ACCESSIBILITY AT OUR FESTIVALS

At PrideFest, we’re committed to making sure that our festivals are easy to navigate for all attendees, regardless of ability. If you have any feedback on how we could do better, please send your thoughts to info@seattlepridefest.org

BATHROOM ACCESSIBILITY REGARDLESS OF GENDER IDENTITY OR SEX

Wherever possible, PrideFest seeks to make all bathrooms for our attendees free of gender or sex labels, to make all bathrooms accessible for all. While this is not always possible, we advocate and push for it at every turn. We were the first event to make public bathrooms (in the Fisher Pavilion and former skate park pavilion) open to all.

SOCIAL MEDIA ACCESSIBILITY

PrideFest has taken the extra steps to provide a more accessible experience digitally in 2024 and into the future. We have added alternative text and image descriptions for all social media posts. PrideFest will also add captions and audio descriptions where available on video content. Using simple and straightforward language and avoiding acronyms will also help make PrideFest copy more accessible reading on all platforms. PrideFest will limit emoji use to spare any screen readers the extra hassle, as screen readers have to hear the emoji description over and over. We are also committed to using link previews when possible for those in our community with limited vision. If there are more ways to make PrideFest content accessible please let us know through DM on your preferred platform.”
